Village Scholarships and Grants from Eklutna, Inc.

Scholarships and vocational training grants are now available to original Eklutna, Inc. enrollees and their direct lineal descendants (natural or adopted). Scholarship applicants have two deadlines, while vocational training applicants have four. TCF scholarships and grants require an online application, whereas EI scholarships and grants require a paper application. However, to to submit your El scholarship application, you must have an approved user account.

Scholarship deadlines

Scholarship deadlines are June 1 and December 1 of each year.

The deadline for the Vocational Training Grant is March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 1.

Worth of the village scholarships

  • Full-time/part-time scholarship students may receive up to $1,500/$1,000 per academic year.
  • Full-time/part-time scholarship students may receive up to $750/$500 per term.
  • Students pursuing vocational training/certificates may receive up to $1,000 per calendar year.

All awards are contingent on funding availability.

Application Requirements:

To apply, you must ensure that all application requirements are met. They include:

  1. Availability of Proof of EI original enrollee or direct lineal descendant status. To satisfy this requirement, a written statement from EI or birth certificates linking you to your original enrollee, as well as name change documents, may be required.
  2. Provision of the applicant’s high school diploma or GED
  3. Applicant must be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or vocational training/certificate-seeking course/ program
  4. Applicants must also be enrolled in an accredited institution.
  5. You must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher Award

Ninilchik Native Association, Inc. Village scholarships

Original NNAI enrollees and their lineal descendants are eligible for the Ninilchik Native Association, Inc. (NNAI) Scholarship and Grant program (natural or adopted). Eligible applications can be considered for both a NNAI and a TCF award at the same time. There are two deadlines for applicants to scholarships and one deadline for applicants to vocational training.

As of May 25, 2017, Alaska Native voting shareholders of NNAI will be eligible for this scholarship. Voting Alaska Native shareholders who are not original enrollees or direct lineal descendants of NNAI will be able to apply online for scholarships and vocational training grants.

Original SNAI enrollees, their lineal descendants (natural or adopted), and their spouses are eligible for the Salamatof Native Association, Inc. (SNAI) Scholarship and Grant program. Eligible applications can be considered for both a SNAI and a TCF award at the same time. There are two deadlines for applicants to scholarships and one deadline for applicants to vocational training.
